Company offers tokens for plastic recycling in Indonesia

An American cleaning company together with an environmental organization will open plastic recycling centers in Indonesia offering local tokens for waste collection

SC Johnson, a cleaning products company in partnership with environmental company Plastic Bank will open plastic recycling centers in Indonesia offering tokens for waste collection.

With the collaboration of Plastic Bank, SC Johnson will open 8 plastic collection centers throughout Indonesia. One will be located in Bali, the main touristic attractions of the country, while the others will start operations in May next year. After starting its network in the nation, the company expects to expand its operations to other Asian countries.

In these centers, local collectors will be able to exchange plastic waste with digital tokens that can be used to acquire goods and services through a decentralized system. The use of the blockchain for the distribution of tokens could help reduce the risk of loss or theft of remuneration.

The use of block technology will help to combat pollution in the ocean, as well as to minimize the levels of poverty in Indonesia. The blockchain has been widely used in charitable programs due to its high level of security and sustainability.

Decentralized solutions have also been used in the area of environmental protection, in the solar and renewable energy industry.
