The situation has become stricter after the SEC indicated that Consensys was operating as an unregistered broker-dealer. On the other hand, Keonne Rodríguez, CEO of Samourai Wallet, and William Hill, chief technology officer, have been charged with conspiracy to commit money laundering, as well as conspiracy to operate a money transmission business without a license, charges for which They would receive 20 and five years in prison in each case.

For now, crypto wallet users were warned to empty their funds without forcing closure, because the fees could be very high.
