Facebook Lasso seeks to catch the youngest

The well-known social network is working on Facebook Lasso, a new application with which young people can record and share videos of themselves

The era of short-form video applications like Tik Tok have shown an incredible boom especially among younger users. Facebook untiringly seeks to captivate teenagers and pre-teens and for this purpose it will join the boom of recording and sharing videos with Facebook Lasso innovation.

In the new app teenagers can record and share videos of themselves synchronizing the lips or dancing hundreds of popular songs. Lasso will compete directly with Tik Tok who recently merged with Musical.ly to create a single platform where content is shared around the world.

Lasso will be presented in full screen and is designed to be of the adolescents’ liking. It is funny and is focused on creation. The team that develops it is made up of the same creators of the Facebook Watch video tool, under the leadership of Brady Boss.

In early 2018 Facebook revitalized their musical efforts to announce agreements with major record companies such as Warner, Universal and Sony, one of the initial problems of Musical.ly when the videos had to be removed for infringement of copyright.

But before Lasso arrives, the social network will continue to launch news. Facebook recently premiered the musical stickers in their stories. In addition, it has begun to experience the functions of Lip Sync Live for karaoke with live broadcasts and will show the lyrics of some songs on the screen, a whole group interaction around the music.
