Homero Joshua Garza must serve 21 months in prison for a fraud linked to cryptocurrencies

This Friday, the federal court of Hartford at the United States, issued a sentence to Homero Joshua Garza, CEO of GAW Miners to 21 months of prison for a crime of fraud linked to cryptocurrencies.

In particular, the case has to do with the sale of computing power for mining in the cloud and the commercialization of the digital currency called PayCoin.

Judge Robert Chatigny also ordered that the amount of $ 9.2 million be returned to the inter-project investors who participated between May 2014 and January 2016. The defendant must appear before the authorities in January 2019 to begin to comply with his sentence.

GAW Miners was founded in 2014, based on Bloomfield, and specialized in the manufacture, supply and sale of hardware for cryptography.

According to the authorities, the company was in charge of offering eight million dollars in presumed shares and being able to count for mining, with a digital contract that they called hashlets.

GAW Miners and ZenMiner were also closed in 2015 by the Securities and Exchange Commission of the United States (SEC).
