YouTube channels were attacked

A group of hackers violated different accounts in order to obtain cryptocurrencies illegally

Several channels of the YouTube video network were the victims of attacks by hackers, who sought to take control of their accounts to steal cryptocurrencies.

This method is similar to the one used several weeks ago to perpetrate famous Twitter accounts, in order to obtain bitcoins illegally.

One of those most affected by the attack on YouTube is Jon Prosser, who has long been becoming more popular, due to his leaks about Apple.

The victim believes that the hackers carried out a SIM swapping, a technique that consists of requesting a copy of the victim’s SIM card to obtain the account verification codes. It is a method that has grown tremendously in recent years due to its effectiveness.

Faced with this situation, the video platform’s support team issued a message through its official Twitter account.

They wrote: “We are very sorry that you are going through this; we will send you a direct message (DM) so we can share more information”. However, YouTube invited the user to contact by email to follow up on the case. And added: “Please note that due to the complexity of these cases, it may take a few weeks to receive a response with the next steps.”
