New app allows you to upload your documents to the cell phone

The application, called World Tourist Identification (WTID), was developed by the company Wanderlust

The World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), through the international company Wanderlust has launched, the first application that allows travelers to carry their passport, identification and health documents, tourist services and means of payment on their mobile phone in order to to avoid physical documentation.

The application called World Tourist Identification (WTID), was presented at an event attended by Zurab Pololikashvili, UNWTO Secretary General, where they specified that the app will have two aspects: citizen and tourist.

In turn, WTID will be made up of four ecosystems: personal identification, tourist and commercial services, health (medical history, user vaccination certificates or traceability) and payment methods.

Other advantages that the application presents is the creation of an information base thanks to the traceability the traveler leaves in their purchases, visits or leisure services. The main objective of the innovative tool is to contribute to making it a safer, more transparent and agile sector for both tourists and operators.

Until now it is known that WTID is in beta phase and will have its official launch in the city of Malaga, Spain, next month as a pilot project.
