Facebook controls the four most downloaded mobile apps of the last ten years

Subway Surfers and Candy Crush Saga have been the most downloaded games in the last ten years, with 1,352 and 937 millions respectively

Facebook, Facebook Messenger, WhatsApp Messenger and Instagram, all of them from Mark Zuckerberg’s company, have been the most downloaded apps for both Android and iOS operating systems since 2010, according to a new report from App Annie. Statistics show that users’ favorite applications are the apps of communication and social networks, because they represent seven of the ten most downloaded applications in this period.

In the global “top 10” of the most downloaded applications are also Snapchat, Skype, TikTok, UC Browser, YouTube and Twitter, according to statistics. In terms of mobile applications that have earned more revenue, music apps and streaming videos have been the most downloaded, with Netflix on top of the list, and followed by Tinder, Pandora Music and Tencent Video. Spotify, YouTube and HBO also among the top ten.

Subway Surfers and Candy Crush Saga have been the most downloaded games in the last ten years, something that is not surprising at all because a month ago they became the most downloaded titles in the history of Google Play Store, with 1,352 and 937 million of downloads respectively.

Temple Run 2, My Talking Tom, Clash of Clans, Pou and Hill Clim Racing are also in the “top 10” of most downloaded games since 2010. Clash of Clans and Candy Crush Saga stand out as the only two most downloaded paid games in this period. Monster Strike, Puzzle & Dragons and Fate / Grand Order complete the “top 5”.

According to App Annie, the last ten years have been a time of remarkable growth for the mobile economy with a 5% increase in downloads and a 15% growth in consumer spending in 2019, something that is expected to continue next year.
