500 investors will participate in the Colombia Investment Summit

The event will be held on October 29 and 30 at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Bogota whit the participation of companies from the United States, China, Japan and Mexico

500 foreign investors will have the opportunity to organize business meetings with local companies to establish alliances and generate contact with projects that allow the search for investment in Colombia, among which are national government entities, free zones and regional agencies of promotion.

The fifth edition of Colombia Investment Summit will gather together delegations from several countries from America, Europe and Asia, mainly from the United States, China, Japan, Canada and Mexico, all linked to the infrastructure, tourism, energy, agricultural businesses and orange economy sector, which covers creative industries, as indicated in a statement by the government agency of the executive branch, ProColombia.

Flavia Santoro, president of that agency, said that in the fourth edition “27 investment projects of companies that participated in the event, which represent an investments over 720 million dollars and expected generation of jobs for more than 6,400 positions of work.”

The inauguration will be attended by the president of Colombia, Iván Duque, the Secretary General of the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), Zurab Pololikashvili, and the director of the Center for the Fourth Industrial Revolution of the World Economic Forum (IMF) in Colombia, Agostinho Almeida.

In the event, sectoral meetings will be established as a strategy that will help consolidate the Colombian territory as an ideal destination for direct foreign investment, as Santoro indicated: “We are a country of different development poles throughout the territory and with great opportunities for entrepreneurship and creative industries, agro-industrial development, tourism, and manufacturing and specialized services that can contribute to our country having a thriving and outstanding economy in the region.”
