The Generalitat moves towards digital innovation
The Spanish Autonomous Community works on the adoption of blockchain technology in public administration
Digital innovation, hand in hand with blockchain technology, will progressively reach the public administration of La Generalitat thanks to recent agreements of the “Govern” in this regard.
Interconnected blocks, data encryption, inviolability of transactions, are some of the characteristics that the Autonomous Community of Spain wishes to achieve in its administrative processes.
Catalonia will be the pioneer in the adoption of a “country strategy” for the development of the blockchain. Next, the Department of Digital Policies and Public Administration will be responsible for designing a plan before the end of 2018 to apply it next year.
According to a Govern recent statement, the blockchain technology “will be decisive and will impact all sectors and industries.”
The applications go beyond the cryptocurrency ecosystem. They hope to apply the blockchain in the areas of knowledge, teaching and talent creation. In addition, they will focus on the promotion of research and innovation as well as industrial development, among others.
