Avai FC of Brazil will launch its own cryptocurrency
The club of the city of Florianópolis, in the south of the country and with 95 years of history, looks for ways to offer congratulations to the fans with the launch of an ICO and its own token
The Brazilian football team Avaí FC announced on Wednesday, September 12, the launch of an Initial Coin Offer (ICO) in order to raise 20 million dollars.
The sum obtained will be used to create various incentives for their fans, but first they must ascend to Serie A and qualify for the Copa Libertadores.
Original from the city of Florianópolis, south of Brazil, it has 95 years of history and currently plays in the second division of the country. For its foray into the world of cryptocurrencies it partnered with blockchain technology specialist SportyCo and Blackbridge Sports.
This alliance will allow them to launch the Avai FC Token, which will go on sale next October 3rd, for a month, with a value of one dollar.
The co-founder of SportyCo, Marko Filej said: “With this ICO, we are opening a new chapter in football and in the sports industry in general … In principle, card holders will be able to buy goods, tickets and unique experiences with the token. In the future, this will improve.”
For his part, Francisco José Battistotti, president of Avaí FC, showed his optimism for attracting fans from all over the world, while underlining that they work to be a permanent member of the Serie A of Brazil and qualify for the Copa Libertadores.
