Germany supports economic growth in Turkey

German Chancellor Angela Merkel said in early September that they are interested in sustained growth of the Turkish economy through dialogue and cooperation

The imbalances in Turkey’s economy have generated reactions in governments like the German. In a recent statement on the matter, Chancellor Angela Merkel indicated that they have a strategic interest in the stability and economic growth of Turkey.

She clarified that it is not about delivering money on a whim, but to look for mechanisms to stabilize the Turkish currency; establish dialogue and cooperation tables, leaving aside differences in political aspects.

Merkel’s claims were questioned by representatives of the German opposition parties, particularly in relation to the upcoming visit of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan to Berlin on September 28-29.

In this regard, the German chancellor said: “We can not always think of the world in terms of black and white, that is not reality.” This demonstrates the opening of the Teutonic country towards support for Turkey in favor of real and sustained economic growth.

The relations of cooperation between both countries have been strengthened in previous meetings of diplomatic representatives, which could pave the way for future financial support.
