United Nations debates the future of the network

The organism receives until today, January 24th, the proposals of governments, civil society and organisms of the field of technology for the next Internet Governance Forum that will take place in the month of November in Berlin

As a previous and fundamental activity to the completion of the next Internet Governance Forum to be held from November 25th to 29th in Berlin, the UN opened a process of requesting proposals on issues related to the future of the Internet and which closes precisely today.

For this edition the organism expanded participation, allowing civil society to participate with ideas related to cybersecurity, inclusion policies for populations without Internet access, Artificial Intelligence, Internet of Things, the cloud, programs and platforms with application in the different areas of life, the 5G connection and much more.

The UN will discuss the future of the network in an event that will bring together the world’s top representatives in such important areas as accessibility and human rights.

On the IGF website, the agency opened a link so that interested parties can send their ideas. The participation that was previously limited to members of the congress was extended to “exponents of civil society, representatives of governments or intergovernmental institutions, the private sector and the technological community.”

Participants who have the opportunity to submit their ideas and proposals until January 24th will have several categories and if the idea does not fit in any of them, they can also propose a new discussion topic.
