Russian hotels will accept cryptocurrencies at the 2018 World Cup

The fans will be able to use digital currencies to pay different services during the event

Russian President Vladimir Putin raised last March the possibility of approving the use of cryptocurrencies to accelerate its economy. In fact, since 2017 they have been talking about the creation of the cryptorublo. Although they are not entirely convinced of the security of the digital currencies, Putin gave his cabinet a term July 1st this year to analyze his proposal and offer an answer.

In this framework, Russia and the world are preparing for the start of the 2018 World Cup, which will take place in cities such as Ekaterinburg, Moscow, Kazan, St. Petersburg, Volgograd, Rostov-on-Don, Sochi, Nizhny Novgorod, Samara, Saransk and Kaliningrad. The question of thousands of fans, particularly foreigners, is whether they can use cryptocurrencies to cancel tickets, services, hotels, restaurants and everything related to the World Cup.

Good news come out in this sense. Some hotels have made the proposal for the payment of rooms with these currencies. For instance, hotels in Kaliningrad have decided to accept the payment for accommodation in their hotels through the Free-Kassa online cancellation system, for the scheduled games on June 16, 22, 25 and 28.
