The Colombian ambassador to Venezuela, Armando Benedetti, stated in the National Assembly on Tuesday that the first meeting between the presidents of both nations could take place next October.

According to the media, Benedetti indicated that he is working to make this meeting happen, so that diplomatic relations between Venezuela and Colombia are restored.

The diplomat arrived in Venezuela this weekend to present his credentials as ambassador and held a meeting with Jorge Rodríguez, president of the AN.

According to Benedetti, the efforts to restore bilateral relations contemplate “the convocation of the Foreign Policy commissions of Colombia and Venezuela, the boards of directors of the Parliaments and special commissions of deputies from the border area, to hold binational meetings. in the coming days”.
