Netflix offers subscriptions for mobile devices
Netflix tests a new subscription model, cheaper and reserved only for mobile devices
Reed Hastings, CEO of Netflix, hinted that they are experimenting with more affordable and accessible subscriptions to lower the service access door. If by mid-year users in Spain saw Netflix offer a new ultra plan with 4K HDR resolution and more expensive, now the strategy is completely opposite.
The new price package is oriented, for the moment, to the Asian market and emerging countries. Thanks to the fact that it is already available in Malaysia, you can know some of the characteristics of the new modality.
In Malaysia the Netflix service has a cost of RM33, but now they added the new subscription at half price. Approximately RM17 which in Europe equals 3.99 euros.
The mobile subscription offers the same conditions as the basic rate but with a very important change. While Netflix lets you watch your videos on any device, with this rate people can only watch videos through their mobile or tablet.
