One of the charms that cryptocurrency technology offers is that they are outside the conventional banking system. That is, the participation of a central bank can be viewed with a skeptical eyes. However, the IMF says that joint work can be a good way to avoid scams and money laundering.

Indeed, money laundering, scams, schemes ponzi, false ICOs and other vices are very common and frequent in the sector and this point out the words uttered by the IMF at a conference in Singapore.

Christine Lagarde said: “The advantage is clear. Its payment would be immediate, safe, cheap and potentially semi anonymous. And central banks would maintain a secure base in payments. In addition, they would offer a better playing field for the competition and a platform for innovation.”

In addition, it was mentioned that it is accepted to prefer digital cash, but that central banks needed supervision to avoid stealing customers’ capital and to reduce the abuses of criminal gangs.
