Jack Ma: “The blockchain must be friendly with the environment”
The president and founder of Alibaba stressed that the platform has many benefits but it must demonstrate its potential for better development of society
The founder of Alibaba, Jack Ma, said recently that the blockchain technology together with others must demonstrate its potential to have a better society.
This was indicated during the World Conference on Artificial Intelligence, which was held in China on September 17th. The businessman and philanthropist has always been in favor of blockchain technology.
“The age of the data is a great opportunity to reform the industry, but the blockchain and IOT will be meaningless unless they can promote the transformation of the manufacturing industry, and the evolution of society towards a more ecological and inclusive direction,” said Ma.
Despite his words, the former English teacher gave no indication of what the steps should be in order to achieve his ideals of a better society.
This is not the first time Jack Ma argues in favor of blockchain technology. Last May he explained that said platform “is not a bubble but bitcoin is“. His company has taken charge of adopting it within its system for the supply chain.
