Samsung will apply blockchain in customs clearance

The technology company announced an agreement with the Korean Customs Service to create a platform for export systems

The Samsung company established an agreement with the Korean Customs Service (KCS) to apply the blockchain technology in the creation of a customs export system.

Through the division of technology and information, Samsung SDS, the Asian company will create the first customs logistics service based on blockchain technology. This seeks to achieve greater efficiency and stop the fraud of the industry.

As indicated by both companies through a statement, another 48 companies including relevant government authorities, maritime transport operators, logistics companies and insurance providers decided to join this idea too.

On the other hand, Samsung indicated that it will use Nexledger, an internal blockchain platform that will be used to share documents related to export. It will participate both who makes the shipment of the goods and who requests it.

The Nexledger platform has the function of acting as a cloud computing solution for companies and government authorities, for the construction of their own services as an additional layer.
