Austria will allow the opening of small businesses next week

Supermarkets and pharmacies must have disinfectant gels and customers are encouraged to use a mask

The Austrian Government has extended until the end of April the restriction of movements adopted to contain the expansion of the coronavirus, although the Prime Minister, Sebastian Kurz, has advanced that from April 14 some restrictions will be relaxed. For example, the opening of the small business.

The measure also affects craft and stores, although to a limited extent, as long as they meet certain hygiene requirements. Supermarkets and pharmacies must have disinfectant gels and their customers will be required to wear a mask, which will also be mandatory on public transport.

The general opening of commerce is not expected at least until the beginning of May and schools will remain closed at least until the middle of that month, although in the universities the final part of the course is already given up, according to local media.

The Government has prohibited travel and celebrations coinciding with Easter, in addition Kurz announced that, as long as there are no drugs or vaccines that are proven effective against the virus, there will not be full freedom of travel in Austria.

The Austrian authorities have already confirmed more than 12,000 positives for Covid-19, with at least 204 deaths.
