Firefox will block crypto-malware in future releases

The browser seeks to protect users around the world from attacks by malicious miners through blocking mechanisms known as anti tracking

The developer of web browsers Firefox announced that in its next versions will apply blocking mechanisms to malware related to cryptocurrency mining.

Recently there have been dozens of attacks on Internet users almost imperceptibly. This is precisely what Firefox wants to avoid. For this purpose, it has indicated that they will activate anti tracking mechanisms that allow blocking the access of malicious miners to the user’s browsing routes.

The least damage they cause is that the devices become slower. However, the worst scenario is permanent damage to the softwares, just what the browser developers are focused on.

The attack mode of malicious miners includes the almost invisible tracking of data to fingerprint users, the activation of cryptographic scripts to extract cryptocurrencies from the user’s device.

Among the immediate actions of the browser is the test of the functionality of the new features in the Firefox Nightly version. If the result is successful, users will see them enabled in the Firefox 63 version.
