After announcing the acquisition of Distributed Systems Inc, Coinbase announced its goal of working on a new way to identify itself within the system.
This was announced by the identity project manager, B Byrne, who in his blog explained the intentions of developing this new open financial system.
“The blockchain technology that powers cryptocurrencies offers a new way to allow us to be ‘verified’ anywhere we go on the Internet, feeling more secure in our interactions with others and opening the door to experiences that require trust”, detailed Byrne.
According to the manager, the company seeks to create a system that allows users to keep control of their private information so that they are not forced to give a copy of it.
Starting from the alliance with Distributed Systems, Coinbase will now look for ways to have its own decentralized identity method.
“Coinbase must be deliberate about how and where we apply this technology“, Byrne said.
