Venezuelan government promises to reactivate Petrocaribe

Nicolás Maduro, President of Venezuela, in the framework of the farewell ceremony for the ambassador of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Andreas Wickham, stressed that the Petrocaribe cooperation mechanism will be recovered with the purpose of helping all the countries of the Caribbean region.

He indicated: “Sooner rather than later we will recover Petrocaribe to support all the Caribbean countries, it will recover as part of the workers’ effort.”

As will be recalled, Petrocaribe is made up of Belize, Cuba, the Dominican Republic, Venezuela, Nicaragua, Antigua and Barbuda, Bahamas, Dominica, Grenada, Guyana, Jamaica, Suriname, Saint Lucia, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Honduras. and Haiti. Ecuador and Bolivia remain as observer members.

Nicolás Maduro ratified this Monday that all the Caribbean countries have the support and solidarity of Venezuela because, in his opinion, the limitations cannot be used as excuses to express solidarity. In his opinion, “the unitary path and the construction of a block of forces in the Latin American region must be defended.”
