48 Spanish manufacturers use blockchain for recycling project

Environmental companies and consultants will use the Gouze platform to manufacture plastic packaging

The Spanish Association for the Valorization of Containers (AEVAE), made up of at least 48 national manufacturers of fertilizer and agrochemical products, have devised a recycling project using blockchain technology through the Gouze platform.

The main objective of the project is to be able to track each one of the generated containers and give them an adequate environmental treatment in their final destination, making recycling possible and promoting the circular economy.

Gouze consists of a tool linked to SigneBlock’s native blockchain solution which is managed through a mobile app, which specializes in providing connectivity, traceability and transparency to all the products that customers decide to register and verify about it.

For Marta Gutiérrez, CEO of SigneBlock, “it is necessary to create a sustainable production system, managing information related to waste at all stages of the supply chain, in an agile and secure way, optimizing said treatment, verifying compliance with regulations in force by each responsible entity and allowing all those involved to trace the treatment that each residue has followed” and avoid any fraud.

Among the manufacturers participating in the project are transnational companies with a presence in numerous countries, including some in Latin America, such as: Grupo Stoller, Grupo Valagro, Meristem, MAFA Vegetal Microbiology and Atlántica Agrícola.
