Blockchain solutions for humanitarian aid

IBM and Global Citizen joined in a project to channel donations in campaigns against poverty

Developers around the world face the challenge of providing life quality and social, medical and humanitarian assistance to populations at risk. IBM and Global Citizen are focusing on the Challenge Accepted contest, based on the United Nations Envision 2030 initiative to help the most deprived.

The contest is expected to be supported on the IBM blockchain platform and from there build a solid network in which all the stages of the donation are inserted and controlled. With this technology they seek to ensure that funds from crucial donors such as governments actually reach the hands of the needy.

Challenge Accepted participants must create a network of three members on the IBM Blockchain platform. The donations are registered and organized there, and then validated by Global Citizen. The winning team will have its minimum viable product on the IBM website, will receive a workshop with the corporation, Global Citizen and industry leaders that will allow them to implement the application.
