Hitachi closes its headquarters in Buenos Aires

The technological giant will continue to operate in the region through its plant in Brazil

The Japanese brand Hitachi decided to close its offices in Argentina after more than 60 years, although it will continue with operations in the region through its headquarters in Brazil.

The Japanese holding company will dissolve and liquidate Hitachi South America Argentina SA, which main headquarters are in the Recoleta area, to expand its technology products.

Hitachi started its activities in Argentina in 1954 and became a leader in the TV market, air conditioners and household appliances. The growth of the company was such that since 1970 supports a cooperation agreement with Radio Victoria Fueguina to manufacture and market products of electronics and household appliances.

Although the closing date was not confirmed, it is estimated that it will be in the coming weeks. Similarly, it transcended that its departure does not mean to stop selling the products in the country. Hitachi plant for South America will be located in Brazil, which since 2014 has hosted the regional headquarter of the company.
