SBI Group invests in cryptocurrency wallet maker

The Japanese company disposed of 15 million dollars in the creation of physical portfolios that will be used to carry out transactions with digital assets

The most important financial services group in Japan, SBI Group announced that it invested some 15 million dollars in the Swiss startup Tangem.

This company is dedicated to the manufacture of physical wallets for cryptocurrencies, which resembles a conventional portfolio with the operation of a bank card.

The wallet allows off-chain physical transactions to be made in retail stores, once the same is loaded through a smartphone using NFC.

According to the SBI group, this alliance will strengthen its technological sector with other areas such as the stablecoins, Initial Coin Offerings (ICOs), tokenized asset offers, digital identity and much more.

“Tangem’s wallet, which is quite affordable and safe, is an important tool to promote the mass adoption of digital assets and blockchain technology. We believe that using Tangem will help us stimulate demand for other blockchain services provided by SBI, the Japanese group said in a statement.
