Russia could add blockchain technology to aptitude tests

This was announced by the deputy head of the Committee on Education and Science, who intends to apply an early detection system

The government of Russia is considering the possibility of replacing aptitude tests with an early talent detection system, which will be based on blockchain technology.

The proposal was devised by the deputy head of the Education and Science Committee of the state of Duma and sent to the Ministry of Education, Olga Vasilyeva.

All this comes from Russian parents and teachers opinion, who say that the current system needs to be changed substantially.

“People often complain that it focuses more on theory than on practice and, therefore, it does not help determine the real abilities of a student. Therefore, we are suggesting a new system to evaluate the knowledge and abilities of the students, which would replace the existing one,” said the official.

People claim to be little satisfied with the United States Exam, a test designed in the United States which allows knowing the level of education of children. Since it was applied in 2008, criticism has not stopped coming.

To date, the Russian government had not included any alternative in the field, so the implementation of blockchain technology as a replacement for the current system could increase the efficiency, transparency and reliability of the process.
