YouTube improves anti-bullying policies

The video network will apply stronger measures against personal attacks, implicit threats, among other topics

YouTube updated its anti-bullying policies with a stronger position against personal attacks, prohibiting implied threats and any type of offensive language and tightening sanctions against stalkers, eliminating toxic comments.

Although there are policies against harassment, there are still many content and comments that go unnoticed and affect the video platform community, as Google warned in a statement.

This measure attempts to eliminate these practices from the platform. The company hasbanned for years any type of explicit threat and from now on it will also do so with any type of veiled or implicit threat.

They also developed a framework in the policy against hate speech to establish a coherent criterion when eliminating any type of offensive language on YouTube that goes “too far”, as well as “content that simulates violence towards certain individuals and the language that suggests that some physical violence could occur,” as the platform picks up.
