Google presents new reCAPTCHA v3

For the third version of reCAPTCHA v3 it is not necessary for the user to prove he is a human being. The system will be able to know it thanks to the interactions with the website

The update of its API has been announced by Google through the reCAPTCHA verification tool, which reaches its third version facilitating the management of harmful traffic on websites. The novelty is that now it will not request its visitors to prove they are human beings.

The version will no longer request interactive tests, since everything will now be based on a scoring system assigned automatically to each user. It will be based on the interactions with the site and will be classified from 0.0 to 1.0, where 1.0 is a good interaction and a score closer to 0.0 will indicate that the traffic was probably generated by a robot.

The interactions that will be used to determine the score of each person or visitor range from the movement of the mouse to the time spent in each section of the site and the clicks it makes. Google says that the system has a greater degree of intelligence and it will be possible to stop interrupting the flow of users.

The new API will also give more control to the administrators of the websites, since they will be able to see the number of visitors and thus be able to determine if they are receiving real or harmful traffic.

Users can enable reCAPTCHA v3 in various sections of the websites, from comments to the beginning of the session, as well as purchases or rating determination. In addition, it will have the ability to train a particular machine learning model to combat abuse.
