UNICEF ships one million diphtheria and tetanus vaccines to Venezuela
The Venezuelan government received one million diphtheria and tetanus vaccines from the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) on Monday to protect citizens against these diseases
The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) delivered one million diphtheria and tetanus vaccines to the Venezuelan Ministry of Health on Monday, August 31.
The organization stated regarding this measure: “One million doses, one million opportunities to protect lives.”
UNICEF Health and Nutrition Officer Alfredo Olmedo declared that this initiative seeks to strengthen the protection of Venezuelans against these diseases. He added that “every dose counts, every vaccine protects, and every vaccinated person brings us closer to more resilient and healthy communities.”
This shipment follows one received last week, when Venezuela received “more than 390,000 doses of polio vaccine as part of the cooperation between the Ministry of Health and UNICEF.”
