WHO to cut departments and management teams

The World Health Organization announced it will cut departments and management teams in half to reduce expenses and address US funding cuts

The World Health Organization (WHO) will address the US funding cut by cutting its departments and management teams in half.

US President Donald Trump has announced tariffs and funding cuts since the start of his second term. He also announced the country’s withdrawal from the WHO, “which has left the organization in a financial turmoil and forced it to rethink its next biennial budget (2026-2027), reducing it to $4.2 billion, down from the $5.3 billion initially planned.”

As a measure to address this crisis, the organization will downsize its departments and lay off its management team to reduce expenses.
