Jazz singer and civil rights advocate Joséphine Baker inspires WordPress version 5.9, which introduces new features based on her idea that “all people could live in harmony, just like the different instruments of a jazz band mixed together to form a complete piece.

The new theme offers “a wide range of visual options, from color schemes and font combinations, to page templates and image filters,” as highlighted by the platform in a statement. It allows you to edit elements such as the border or spacing, the navigation menu or the sections.

The main novelty is the first block theme, Twenty Twenty-Two, which introduces the blocks in all the elements of the web page, such as the navigation menu, the header or the content itself.

For developers, WordPress 5.9 offers many new features, including the ability to register multiple style sheets per block, lock level of each block by adding a tweak to the pattern, changes to the scheduled gallery block.
