Volkswagen opens new plant in Turkey

The vehicle manufacturer opened a new subsidiary in the Manisa region with a capital of 164 million dollars

The automaker Volkswagen (VW) opened a new subsidiary in the Turkish province of Manisa, in the west of the country, according to a spokesman for the company.

The executive stressed that the constitution of the company represents a further step towards the construction of the new production plant in Turkey.

The representative of VW explained that the company was registered in the Mercantile Registry with a share capital of about 164 million dollars.

As for a possible factory near Izmir, VW has sustained for weeks that all the details of the contract are almost ready. According to the group, in this plant they will manufacture the new Passat, previously produced at the German Emden plant, as well as the Skoda Superb.
