Venezuela succumbs to blackouts

The country is paralyzed by shutdowns but and politicians seem not to give importance to the situation. The ordinary citizen suffers the consequences of failures in public services

According to sources close to Petróleos de Venezuela (Pdvsa), the damage to oil production caused by the recent blackouts in the country is substantial. However, until now they have been incalculable. It is not difficult to suppose that what is available to sell has fallen to 100,000 barrels a day.

All this without forgetting the effects of the freezing of accounts payable as a result of the sanctions imposed on Venezuela by the United States.

If we add to the above, that the total credit capacity of the banking system does not reach 140 million dollars due to the suffocating reserve. All the mixture makes one think that the South American country will be paralyzed at any moment.

That is to say, the country is extinguished progresivelly like a candle, while Miraflores looks for support in allied governments but it does not seem there is a light in the tunnel so the democratic system could resumes its course in the nation.

In the meantime, the road to paralysis continues unabated, carrying a human tragedy in its wake.
