Uber seeks to bet on the purchase of Free Now

The American company wants to acquire the German firm, which is jointly owned by BMW and Daimler

The US mobility services company Uber is interested in acquiring the German Free Now, jointly owned by BMW and Daimler, as confirmed by BMW itself.

According to a report by the German magazine Manager Magazin, Uber will bid more than 1 billion dollars for the German provider of taxi driving services, formerly known as Mytaxi.

Uber and Daimler, the other two companies involved in the operation, did not comment.

Free Now offers its services in more than 100 cities throughout Europe, with more than 100,000 drivers. However, its activities have been affected by the coronavirus pandemic.

It is also part of the Your Now company, in which BMW and Daimler have merged various activities around urban mobility.
