It is a project that “comes with the highest environmental and social standards, and with transparency,” according to the senior official.

The announcement was made during a CELAC-EU round table, where he stated: “Together, we designed a high-quality investment agenda, for the benefit of our two regions. We agreed on sectors and value chains to prioritize, clean energy and critical raw materials for health and education”.

It was learned that the program’s agenda includes diverse and multiple areas, such as the implementation of “an equitable green and digital transition on both sides of the Atlantic.”

It will be a joint effort between the EU and the representatives and partners of Latin America and the Caribbean, “in critical raw materials such as lithium in Argentina and Chile, the expansion of telecommunications networks in the Amazon region of Brazil, will help with electrification of public transport in Costa Rica, the construction of a metro line in Colombia, the deployment of a 5G network to provide broadband access throughout Jamaica and the modernization of the electrical network in Paraguay”.
