WhatsApp began rolling out a feature that will allow users to open chats with unknown phone numbers without having to save them first to start a conversation.
Currently, there are two options when writing a message to a contact number that has not been saved: either it is accessed directly from the platform, if you click on it from a conversation or from a group in which it is included, since the Chat with button is presented, or by saving the phone number in the phonebook if it has not been shared by WhatsApp.
In this second case, once said number has been stored, you must update the Contacts tab of the instant messaging platform, with the upper right button and clicking on ‘Update’.
However, WhatsApp is preparing a new way to start a conversation with a phone number that has not been previously saved, as WABetaInfo was able to verify in the latest version of WhatsApp for iOS and Android.
This portal shared a screenshot showing the beginning of a phone number written in the search field of the Chats tab. The app then signals that it is “Looking out contacts,” which suggests that it may be looking for them, for example, from the call log.
