Sony bets on a virtual reality headset for PS5

The new device will have higher resolution and a new controller based on DualSense

The Japanese multinational company, Sony, has announced the creation of its new virtual reality headset for PS5, as the company announced in a post on the PlayStation blog.

According to the announcement, the Japanese multinational continues to work on new virtual reality technologies in order to allow “the best entertainment experience with dramatic leaps in performance and interactivity.”

Although no greater detail of the progress is known, this evolution represents a permanent work carried out by the company to contribute to the development of this technology and achieve its launch as soon as possible, although according to the announcement it is not expected to impact the market soon.

Virtual reality technology will not only be used by Sony in the creation of the helmet but also in new games, both its own and those of third parties, an advance that will strengthen Sony’s technology in terms of resolution and field of vision, offering improvements in tracking and connection system. 

It is also known that the case will have new controllers for virtual reality on PS5: the new controller that will accompany the PlayStation device will incorporate some of the DualSense features. In addition, the company aims to improve its ergonomics.
