Saime activated the identification plan until December 2

A hundred Saime offices will be active throughout the Venezuelan territory until December 2 so that citizens can process and renew their identity document, in view of the Consultative Referendum on Essequibo on December 3

This Monday, Saime (Administrative Service for Identification, Migration and Immigration) announced the start of an identification campaign throughout Venezuelan territory, until Saturday, December 2.

The purpose of the initiative is to allow citizens to process and renew their identity document to participate in the Consultative Referendum on Essequibo. Although the general director of Saime, Gustavo Vizcaíno, highlighted that the right to vote can be exercised with the expired document.

In an official statement, Saime indicated that 100 offices will be enabled throughout the country to expedite the process of renewal and obtaining the identity card, offering quality service to “guarantee the right to identity, as established by the Constitution,” the entity noted.

The Referendum on Essequibo will be held on Sunday, December 3, so the national authorities have launched this Monday the ID card campaign for all citizens interested in this important identity procedure.
