The Netflix entertainment platform will have to pay the Italian treasury at least 55.8 million euros (about 59 million dollars) with the intention of putting an end to a tax dispute with the European country referring to the period between 2015 and 2019.

In a statement offered by the Milan Prosecutor’s Office, it was indicated that both parties reached an agreement in which Netflix will make the payment of at least “55,850,513 euros in a single installment for taxes, penalties and interest to settle any debt tax pending with the Italian tax administration for the period between October 2015 and 2019”.

In this way, it became known that this is the end of an investigation opened three years ago by the Italian authorities against the American group for tax evasion.

It is worth mentioning that this new payment order comes at one of the most delicate financial moments of the giant streaming platform, because a few weeks ago, the company announced the loss of at least 200,000 subscribers, which caused a collapse in the value of the shares. of the firm on the stock market.
