Netflix becomes the most popular brand in Latin America

According to some studies conducted, the region's audience is likely to increase by 54 % to reach 48 million subscribers by 2025

A study carried out by the British consultancy Business Financing, found the most popular brands in the global arena in which the entertainment platform, Netflix, was above large brands such as Google or Amazon, in Latin America.

Despite the fact that 2020 was a difficult year for companies due to the Covid-19 pandemic, Netflix was among the exceptions and grew at an accelerated rate, ending with 203.7 million subscribers and expects to increase its numbers during 2021.

The British consultancy published the list of the most searched companies on the planet throughout 2020. To make the measurements, it used the Google Keyword Planner tool, which allowed it to identify the most popular corporations around the world.

Despite the fact that Google is the brand that leads the ranking in more than 100 countries and Amazon is the one with the highest search volume, with a total of 192,548,485, in Latin America the trend changes notably, with Netflix being the most searched from Mexico to Argentina, with the exceptions of Guyana, Belize and Suriname, according to the consultant’s report.

The study indicates that one in ten Latin Americans uses the streaming service at least once a month and the audience in the region is likely to increase by 54 % to reach 48 million subscribers by 2025. The platform understood this advantage in the region and therefore plans to invest 300 million dollars to average 50 original titles in Mexico.
