Movistar expands its LTE connectivity in Venezuela

This month the company offers a better experience to customers located in the state of Mérida

Movistar continues to expand its connection to more than 4 million 4G + clients in Venezuela in order to offer a better communication experience, providing LTE signal to the city of Mérida, in the Venezuelan Andes.

José Luis Rodríguez Zarco, president of Telefónica Movistar, has reported that during this period of confinement “we have worked intensively in our network, aware of the importance for society of being communicated in such complex moments for humanity.”

In this sense, the manager expressed with pleasure the inauguration of “a new market that will allow, in addition, to decongest the networks of other technologies that operate at their maximum capacity.”

With the expansion of the service, which represents an investment of more than 19.5 million dollars during the last year, the coverage of the LTE signal reaches 12 cities in the country, for a total of 23 locations in Venezuela with 4G technology.

Those users who wish to enjoy Movistar’s 4G + technology must have an LTE / 4G mobile device and an updated sim card. If they wish to make a change, the Authorized Agents active in the country will be able to receive their request. The requirements are to keep their mobile number and contracted plan.
