MoneyTap will operate in 61 Japanese banks

The blockchain application for ripple mobiles will be used in financial entities of the Asian country

Ripple recently confirmed through its official Twitter account, the operation of its new MoneyTap application. A consortium of 61 banks in Japan are responsible for more than 80% of the nation’s banking assets and all are using the aforementioned blockchain platform.

The tool will allow the transfer of money in real time between different bank accounts throughout the year and at all times. The company is focused on making use of Ripple blockchain technology and making the most of it for banking transactions in the Asian country.

The platform will allow users to transfer money all year round in Japan to bank accounts using xCurrent. In addition, using a QR code or the recipient’s phone number. Payments can be made through the app that is already available, both on Android and iOS.

MoneyTap is designed specifically to be able to offer a fast and effective service of sending small amount of assets among residents on a daily basis. The maximum that can be sent per transaction is about ¥ 30,000, approximately 262 dollars and the maximum daily limit is about 100,000 ¥, 875 dollars.
