Microsoft had to release a final Windows 7 update

The company had to solve a problem that began when users noted the desktop in blank after pressing the "Stretch" option

Microsoft was forced to update Windows 7 for the last time due to an error caused by the previous update, just a few days after it stopped supporting the operating system.

With the end of support for Windows 7, the operating system would cease to have software and security updates. However, Microsoft released a latest update to fix a bug that caused desktop backgrounds not to fit the screen size.

The company warned through its support page that after installing the KB4534310 update the desktop wallpaper may turn white with the option ‘Stretch’.

“We are working on a solution and will offer an update in an upcoming version that will be released to all clients running Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1“, said the company of Bill Gates.

The company stopped supporting Windows 7 on January 14th, ten years after its launch. The end of support means that users with Windows 7 will no longer have security updates and, therefore, their computers will be more vulnerable to viruses and malicious programs.

Technology companies often eliminate older operating systems after several years to focus their efforts on updates to new versions. Microsoft has already started warning last April about the end of the support period.
