Canadian school will launch course related to the AI

The Smith School of Business in Toronto will apply a chair of artificial intelligence for finance and the ethical implications of technology

The Smith School of Business, located in Toronto, will apply artificial intelligence (AI) for finance and the ethical implications of technology starting next semester.

With regard to the use of the AI, one of the first to have studied the implications of this technology in the institute, Jay Rajasekharan, assured that the future is very promising in terms of the labor fields.

“AI is a fast growing sector and in five years there may be jobs in this field that do not even exist today,” Rajasekharan said.

The Smith School of Business has not been the only institute that has adopted artificial intelligence within its study curriculum in view of the fact that also the business schools Kellogg, Insead and Sloan of MIT have given related courses.

Smith School has become one of Canada’s pioneering institutes in linking technology and education in its teaching programs. A director of the institution, Stephen Thomas, stressed that “now there are three other schools that teach similar masters and I think that more will follow our example”.
