Meta works on a social network to compete with Twitter

The technological Meta is working on "Project 92", which according to the specialized media The Verge is a new Twitter-style social network, whose name could be Threads

Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Meta, does not hold back in his desire to offer new products to users. According to the specialized newspaper The Verge, Meta would soon be launching the Threads social network to compete with Twitter.

In a meeting this Thursday, Meta’s product manager, Chris Cox, indicated that “Project 92”, as the initiative is known internally, is the “answer to Twitter”, anticipating that they will use “the Instagram account system to complete automatically the information of a user”.

The security of data and users is one of the fundamental aspects for the development of the Threads social network. In this sense, according to DW, he indicated that “the application will be integrated with ActivityPub, the open source decentralized protocol for social networks, which will allow users of the new application to take their accounts and followers to other applications, such as Mastodon.”

According to The Verge, there are already personalities interested in Meta’s new social network, which will be managed sensibly and will be able to build trust among users. This, in contrast to what they indicate is currently happening with Twitter, in the hands of Elon Musk.
