Mastercard expands its inquiries on cryptocurrencies

The institution seeks to guide banks and merchants who wish to enter the world of cryptocurrencies

Mastercard announced that it is expanding its practice consulting sector dedicated to the use of cryptocurrencies, with the aim of continuing to develop within the industry.

In the announcement, the president of data and services Raj Seshadri assured that the institution seeks to provide clients with all the necessary information regarding the constant changes within the world of finance.

“Over the last 20 years, we have worked with our clients across banking, fintech, retail, travel and beyond, helping them understand and navigate every challenge and opportunity that comes their way”, Seshadri pointed out.

Mastercard’s goal has always been to be able to guide banks and merchants who are interested in venturing into the world of cryptocurrencies, and who need some kind of help to do so.

The global financial institution is also focusing on helping central banks explore the creation of central bank digital currencies (CBDCs). According to Mastercard, its testing platform allows central banks to conduct research, testing, and consultation with experts in payment systems, regulation, and governance before launching their coins.
