The Board of Executive Directors of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) will hold the Annual Meeting of the Boards of Governors of the IDB and IDB Invest in Punta del Este (Uruguay) from March 17 to 20, 2022, as reported in a statement.

The event will be held using a hybrid format, that is, virtually and with a limited number of face-to-face participants.

The meeting will be attended by economic and rofinancial leaders fm the 48 IDB member countries who will analyze the economic recovery and investment opportunities in Latin America and the Caribbean.

This meeting will consist of a series of events and seminars to include private sector participation and highlight the agency’s work in the region. In addition, the event will focus on topics such as digitization, climate change, building a sustainable and inclusive economic recovery, and investment opportunities to drive the region’s resurgence after the pandemic.

All of this will include an ongoing dialogue on the IDB’s work to assess the institution’s role in supporting its member countries over the next few years. Traditionally, the IDB publishes its macroeconomic report during the Annual Meeting. In 2022 the report will focus on the growth prospects for the region.

2022 will mark the annual congregation of the IDB Board of Governors number 62 and the Board of Governors of IDB Invest number 36 (whose legal name is Inter-American Investment Corporation).

The Boards of Governors are the main decision-making bodies of the Bank. Most governors currently serve as finance ministers, finance ministers, or central bank presidents.
