Digitel, the Venezuelan telecommunications company, suffered access failures to some of its services and platforms, because its system received security threats that forced it to temporarily block its servers to protect itself.
Digitel’s customers have not had any problems with their communications, but on social media they complained about the inability to access the website or top up funds, as well as difficulties with the call centers.
A company source told the portal that they had detected security threats on their system, so they decided to block their servers for a short time to prevent any attacks.
“This block does not interfere with the communication of our customers, who continue to enjoy our service,” the company’s statement states.
They also indicated that the technical and security team is working to neutralize the threat and that they hope that in the coming hours all their portals and service channels will be operational again.
