Dairy producers will use blockchain technology in the supply chain

The Association of Dairy Producers of the United States recently announced that they will use blockchain technology, with the purpose of tracking the supply chain of dairy products

The company Dairy Farmers – DFA partnered with the company Ripe.io, in an initiative that suggests the use of the blockchain to keep track of the food supply chains, to provide transparent and truthful information for producers and consumers.

Currently, the DFA group is testing a beta version through the platform designed by Ripe.io, with data provided by members of the farmers association.

Additionally, Ripe.io is developing its program “2018 Sprint Accelerator“, which has the backing of the Dairy Farmers Association of the United States (Dairy Farmers) and seeks to act as an intensive program of business acceleration and technological advances.

The CEO of Ripe.io, Raja Ramachadran, said: “We have led and participated in many other pilot projects and we know that there are huge possibilities with blockchain and agriculture”.

For the date it is known that the use of the chain of blocks will change the way in which the customers perceive the products, helping to increase the levels of production and consumption. Although there are still details to be disclosed, such as if the tool will use tokens.
